GGoogle“Amazing - casual place in Mia Market. Best sushi I have had outside of Japan. Would go here all the time I lived in Miami.”

★Yelp“Sushi Yasu Tanaka.... Worth it. Whatever reason you're thinking of to avoid navigating through midtown... It's worth it. Genuinely delicious!”

GGoogle“Fire. Omakase and service was great. Would go again. Nice little hidden spot in the back left hand corner of the food hall. Had a casual group of 8 people and everyone loved it.”

GGoogle“Yasu Tanaka is my favorite sushi. The quality is out of this world. I love coming here for lunch so much and it’s always so fresh. The fish literally melts in your mouth. I wish I could give them 10 stars!”
Sushi Yasu Tanaka
GGoogle“This hidden gem is the best sushi in Miami. One of the only places to use real wasabi and uses real fresh ingredients. Sometimes you can see them unpacking and prepping fish right in front of your eyes. Dont miss out!”
Sushi Yasu Tanaka
GGoogle“Michelin recommended AND glowing reviews?! I can see why! This sushi was fantastic! Excellent cuts of fish, super fresh and tasty. Decently priced omakase and fast service. Never would’ve expected this quality from a food hall.”

GGoogle“My first experience with Chef Yasu was at Azabu on Miami Beach. Now he’s brought the experience to MIA Market with his family owned stand. I love it. I would have had more pictures but I demolished everything. 😂 HIGHLY RECOMMEND OMAKASE!”

GGoogle“Love this beautiful food hall. This ceviche place is pretty good. I ordered a classic ceviche, which I'm very happy about. The fish is very fresh and the taste is citrusy and light. The chips & salsa is just fine, maybe because I come from San Diego, so probably I have a high standard for that.”

★Yelp“I first tried the Wagyu and Uni and omg it was my top 3 for best i've ever had. i then decided to do the Omakase special and just WOW. I have no complaints. my three favorite nigiri's were the salmon, wagyu, and toro. It's pricey but i would definitely come back. I tried other places around and Yasu Tanaka tops them all. The service was also amazing. All around 100/10 experience.”

★Yelp“Visited January 2021, first weekend of opening. Never got to write a review until now. This memory of enjoying top level nigiri in a glorified food court still flashes in my mind 9 months later. This isn’t your everyday sushi. I ordered the omakase with no salmon and the chef was happy to oblige. Perfect rice temperature, pressure, and size. 10/10 run to this establishment if you have the chance. They are punching way above their weight.”

GGoogle“If you find yourself at Sushi Yasu Tanaka inside Mia Market, do yourself a favor and try the ube dessert. It might be my new favorite. Layers of sweet purple yam (ube) sit over a scoop of vanilla ice cream, finished with a touch of edible gold leaf--simple but unforgettable. Altogether with tax, it came to just under $13, which felt worth every penny. I can't speak to the rest of the menu, but the service was quick and friendly. The seating area is clean and spay.”

★Yelp“Sushi Yasu Tanaka is the place to go to when you are visiting MDD in Miami and want to try something authentic and fresh. I had friends visiting from Europe and it was an absolute hit for them and for me. We went for lunch and the staff was very welcoming and helpful with our orders. I had the bowl with half & half rice/salad, tuna, salmon … so delicious. For appetizer we had, sashimi and ceviche, if we could lick the plate we would 🤤 unfortunately, I didn’t take a picture of that. Definitely recommend this place, specially in the summer refreshing and light.”

GGoogle“I thought I was in Tokyo, but it was Miami and the experience was as good as the best I have had in Japan. The ramen soup was the best I have had in the USA. The omakase was a world-class experience. Now the backstory. I was looking for a Japanese restaurant in Miami for our one-night stay. Four menus in a row had cream cheese in every roll. I prayed, there must be an authentic Japanese restaurant and I found this one. Nothing against cream cheese if I am searching for a good bagel. I was looking for the best sushi in Miami. I think this is it. Thank you for the wonderful dining experience.”

GGoogle“Probably the best value omakase in the world. Absolutely delicious Update: tonight after looking forward to Yasu Tanaka all week we were turned away as the group that arrived before us made such a big order that staff had to shut the restaurant down for 45 minutes to accomodate. I can understand this is a small operation, but when you are building a loyal customer base that are willing to travel (over 30 mins in my case) to dine at your restaurant you need to manage your supply chain better than just turning people away. Now, i can only recommend this restaurant if you're in the area and have a very flexible schedule. Shame as the grub is top”

GGoogle“Exquisite, phenomenal, and mind-blowing are all words used to describe this place! I went over to HotLime after strolling around Miami design district because both my boyfriend and I were hungry and we came across Mia Market in the upper section of the stores and after visiting each section to see their menu options, HotLime caught our attention. Don't get me wrong, everything the other places offered sounded magnificent but HotLime's just did it for us! We came over to order our food, and since It was our first time visiting and we didn't know the menu, a very nice young lady helped and guided us through everything and all the questions we had. I'd also like to mention that my boyfriend struggles a bit with english so she went ahead and explained the menu to him in spanish as well which made him feel so comfortable! Now, the food, the food was absolutely delicious! I got the shorty tacos and my boyfriend got the chicken tacos, when I tell you I have never had tacos like these before! The tacos were soft and the pieces of rib were so juicy, The chicken tacos had a light pink sauce which made everything come together so perfectly and when I asked the young lady if I could add that sauce on my shorty tacos, she said yes and brought me some of the sauce. My boyfriend and I were so satisfied and fulfilled with not only the service we received but also the food and if you're wondering, yes the tacos look just like the pictures and taste even better too! If you're looking for a place to eat around the Miami area, I 100% recommend this spot!”

GGoogle“There are tons of Michelin hatted spots in Japan that instead of touting a bunch of flare and extravagance, they are nestled into train stations.. or tiny markets. Keeping things simple so people can focus on what really matters: the food This is one of those places.. and feels like a tribute to the hole in wall gems (Michelin starred gems) in Japan Hands down the best sushi in Miami. By a country mile. The fish is flown in multiple days a week.. and the chef (Chef Yasu Tanaka) is highly celebrated.. formerly head chef at Azabu.. and featured in the Michelin guide a bunch The older Tomo took great care of us. Been here more than once. Each time the quality and taste here is mind blowing Btw don’t expect any advanced bookings, ridiculously high prices and formal attire here. The restaurant is slotted into the Mia Market food hall and is super casual. Can be in, feast and out in less than 20 mins! Not cheap but worth every penny!!”

GGoogle“One of my friends recommended here. To enjoy really good sushi, I need my Japanese friend!! So, we stopped by here today to enjoy Omakase. It came with 10 pieces of nigiri and one hand roll. All sushi were so fresh and tasty! We felt like we were in Japan! It's hard to get authentic sushi in Miami but this place has it. It's hidden inside the MIA market food hall. Even your friend or a company won't east raw fish, there are plenty other options. The service was a bit slow since it was a busy day. But this food hall is beautiful and while you are waiting, you could look around other places or grab a drink at the bar.”

★Yelp“Sushi Yasu Tanaka is a true gem in the Miami Design District 🍣✨. The quality of the fish is outstanding—fresh, perfectly prepared, & beautifully presented 🐟👌. Every bite feels carefully crafted, with attention to both flavor & detail. The omakase experience 🎌 is next-level, showcasing creativity, balance, & traditional Japanese precision. The staff is warm, knowledgeable, & makes the experience feel special 💯. If you’re looking for authentic sushi in Miami 🌆, this is the place to be. Highly recommend Sushi Yasu Tanaka for anyone who appreciates Japanese cuisine 🌟.”

GGoogle“The food hall where Miami Nice is located doesn't have cheap eats at all, but for Miami Nice's $5 dogs. This is a spectacular deal, and the fries are served with a tasty dipping sauce. We adored the woman working the counter, as she was helpful and personable. She gave us two straws when knowing we were splitting our beverage. I think this hotdog deal could easily be put on any Miami cheap eats list. The fries and beverage were an okay price. The $6 lemonade was kind of on the high end, but it was so delicious.”

★Yelp“Outstanding sushi. A nigiri based Omakase had high quality fish including a tuna flight. The otoro was melt in your mouth, the rice needed more chewing than the fish. Aburi (torched) salmon belly was another home run. Don't let the food court atmosphere dissuade you from going - it's an absolute gem. Bought sake at bar located centrally - their markup is pretty high. Parked in Palm Court garage 3$ for up to 4h. MIA Market is on 2nd floor.”

GGoogle“A DELICIOUS and affordable omakase at $59. Randomly in a food court, but who cares when that grilled otoro could bring me to tears? Plus the servers were so friendly and attentive that you couldn't get better service in a five-star restaurant. Everything was tasty, but favorites were the fatty tuna, the scallop, the truffle yellowtail, and the smoky salmon. Go here yesterday and send me some in the mail.”
Sushi Yasu Tanaka
★Yelp“Omg, the way this sushi place is priced makes me feel like there a glitch in the matrix.. probably some of the best sushi I've had (and I eat it a lot) got the 10 pc omakase for $59 tbh if it was double that this would still be a five star review. Every piece was perfectly seasoned and ratioed and just heaven”

★Yelp“Eating here with my family several times now and it has been delicious every single time. Had the freshly made in front of you guacamole with the fresh corn chips, also a great sample of tacos. My two favorite were Cochinito & the short ribs tacos. Great work Chefs.”

★Yelp“Pros: 1) Japanese chef; 2) very friendly and nice stuff Japanese woman and big guy :) 3) real wasabi root; 4) ginger that they cut on front of you; 5) very good menu , changed every week. 6) great music Cons: 1) parking, hard to find”

★Yelp“This sushi beats nobu even on a bad day. The chefs are amazing, the rice is perfect, and you will never get a5 wagyu at this price. Go here while it lasts because this place is truly a hidden gem”
